ABOUT

Greg grew up on the Lower East Side of New York City and began playing at age nine. He spent his teen years between NYC and Charleston, and it was during this time that he started playing his first gigs.

 

He earned a 4-year diploma in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. While attending Berklee, he had the opportunity to play with and learn from many notable professionals such as Gary Burton, George Garzone, John LaPorta, Bruce Gertz, and John Lockwood, to name a few.

After graduating and settling in Boston, Greg continued studying music with renowned jazz educator Charlie Banacos.

 

He performed in jazz and pop/R&B groups and and began teaching guitar and bass in 1990.

​

In the 2000's Greg collaborated with Night Shift Entertainment, forming and leading a popular wedding/event band, SoHo, which played over 80 gigs a year at venues around Boston, Cape Cod, Newport, RI, and New York.

​

He was a music instructor at Milton Academy in the Boston area for several years before returning to Charleston to be near his wife's family.

​

Greg continues to perform and teach in Charleston, and appears at many local venues such as High Cotton, Grill 225, The Mezz, Hall's Chophouse, Eli's Table, The Dewberry, Barsa, Charleston Grill, and others. He also performs with various groups at weddings and private events.
